Sentence #46 - REVEALED
How did you do?
We went back and forth on the proposal for weeks.
These are the things that might have tripped you up:
The stop t in went, which means that it’s not really a full t sound - just a stop of the air
The reduction, connection, and dropped d in back and, which sounds a bit like backen (or maybe even back end!)
The vocabulary phrase back and forth, which means to swing between two ideas or things. Forth is one of those words you don’t hear much on it’s own these days, but it lives on in this type of fixed phrase.

Although some people guessed the plural form, proposals, in their sentences, I didn’t hear it when I listened again. Here’s what that would sound like if I said it with the plural.
