Ah, conditionals…if the grammar doesn’t get you, the pronunciation just might!
These are the things that might have tripped you up:
The reduced we and its connection to if, which makes it sound like one word ifwii
The stop t sound in hadn’t, which doesn’t sound like a clear t sound.
The reduced version of there, which sounds more like thur
The reduced have, which means would have sounds more like would’ve
The pronunciation of several, which looks like it should have 3 syllables (sev er al), but in reality, only has two (sev rul).
The grammar of the mixed conditional - where if we hadn’t gone there is the beginning of a third conditional, but we would have is the result of a second conditional.
